Changed Women Change Lives

One day while praying, the following phrase came from the Lord, “Women who are devoted to Me can change the world.”
As I reflected on those words, my thoughts were drawn to women of the Bible, especially those who went to the tomb that first Easter morning. They were women who were devoted to Christ — devoted in life and devoted in death.
They were His apprentices — learning from Him how to live like Him. They journeyed with Jesus, even to the cross. They didn’t leave when it got hard and they saw Him being persecuted. In fact, they remained steadfast and focused until the end, even when other followers fled.
They were His apprentices — learning from Him how to live like Him.
After Jesus was laid in the tomb, the women went home that night to prepare the burial spices, and then they took a very important next step. They stopped. Instead of rushing to get to their task, they rested on the Sabbath and didn’t let their work get in the way of their worship. As they had learned from Jesus, their focus on devotion gave each woman time to prepare her body, mind, and spirit for what God had laid on her heart to do.
When the sun rose early the next morning, so did they. The women were up and out without delay even though they didn’t know how they were going to move the big boulder from the front of the tomb. They went forward – not knowing but trusting in God’s power. Their trust led them to be the first ones to hear and share the good news of the risen Lord.
These women were devoted and humble and willing to do what needed to be done when it needed to be done, even though they might have been afraid. They were ordinary women willing to be used by God for his extraordinary purposes, and they changed the world.
They were ordinary women willing to be used by God for his extraordinary purposes….
As we strive to learn from Jesus how to live like Him, may we too become world changers. May we experience the transforming power of Christ in our daily lives and relationships and become changed women who change lives.
