September 24-30, 2023

Our focus chapter this month is found in 2 Corinthians 4. Personally, I have been struggling to be my best self lately. This chapter came to me as a reminder that God is at work even when I'm feeling pushed in on, hard-pressed, and frustrated with myself. I hope you can read along and follow the prayer prompts to be encouraged in your own walk with Christ. He is faithful to show us mercy and grace when we are not at our best!

This Week’s Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:10-12

Focus Reading

…always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are constantly being handed over to death because of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you (2 Corinthians 4:10-12).

Prayer Prompts

Day 1: Did you realize you carried around Jesus in His death? What do you think that means? Investigate that and ask Him for help.

Day 2: When you think of being given over to death, what comes to mind? How could you die to yourself today? Pick one thing that you can surrender? Name it!

Day 3: As you think of ways you can die to your own personal needs (and maybe you named something yesterday), have you caught yourself struggling to make an adjustment? Say a prayer today that shares with God that struggle. (Let a friend know what you surrendered and ask for prayer support)

Day 4: The world tells us to "live for self." In what ways has the world informed your thinking and crept in? Take a fast from consuming today (news, phone, email, or other source of information) and give that space over to God. It could be your first 10 mins, a lunch hour, or your drive home. Create a space for God to speak instead!

Day 5: How have you seen God at work in you lately? Give Him praise for the great things He has done - big or small!
