December 31-January 6, 2024

Take a few moments to read over Psalm 103. Let it seep into your mind, heart, and soul as you read. If you know the practice of Lectio Divina, this is a good approach.

If you aren't familiar with Lectio Divina, read over the verses while asking God to show you what He wants to teach you from the words/thoughts. Each time you read through, He might bring a new part of the passages to mind or illuminate a section while giving you greater understanding. This is an ancient practice that Christians have been using to connect with God in a deeper way.

This week’s Bible Reading: Psalm 103

Focus Verse:

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name" (Psalm 103:1).

Prayer Prompts

Day 1: What does praising the Lord look like for you in this season? Find a way to praise Him today.

Day 2: Where do you find your innermost being? How can you relate that to praise? Is there a time where you felt praise was flowing freely from your mind, body, and soul? What caused that? Reflect on it today in prayer.

Day 3: How can you be reminded of His benefits? What practices do you keep that help you remember what great things He has done?

Day 4: Remember that sin is "anything we think, say, or do, that separates us from God's ways."  Here is an easy way to remember. Sin is anything we think (point to head), say (point to mouth) or do (stretch out hands) that breaks (use hands as if you are breaking a stick) God’s Law. Repeat that in your mind. What comes to mind? God is faithful to forgive. Take a moment to reflect and write a prayer of confession.

Day 5: What has God redeemed you from? Share that story with someone in your life or someone you encounter this weekend. You wear a crown. Carry it confidently, in love and compassion.
