May 12-18, 2024
As we navigate through life, relationships become a primary force in our daily lives. Let's admit it. Some people are easier to love than others. We all have those people in our lives that require more work. Maybe we are that person for them - you never know. Either way, we are called to love others well.
Take time the next few weeks to do an inventory of your relationships according to this passage. I pray God will take us deeper into His mercy and further into His love for the sake of others.
This week's Bible reading: Romans 12:9-12
Focus Verse: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." (Romans 12:12)
Prayer Prompts
Day 1: What are some ways that we can show sincere love? Say a prayer asking God to create in you a sincere love for others.
Day 2: What does it mean for you to honor others above yourself? How can you balance making a priority of your own needs and taking care of others? Talk to God about what that might look like. Ask Him to give you ideas.
Day 3: What ways have you lost your spiritual fervor? How have you been keeping your "light hidden?" God is calling you into the light to experience Him. Rededicate your heart to Him today. Ask Him to infuse you with the Holy Spirit and reignite your heart for Him.
Day 4: Let's be honest. Being joyful in hope feels easy compared to being patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. Those are the hard ones. Which one is hardest for you? Ask someone in your life to pray for you in this area.
Day 5: Write these verses down on a card and take a walk with them. Invite God in today with sincere love, ask for help honoring others, call upon him to reignite your flame for Him as your first love, and then ask Him to help you with your patience and faithfulness. He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine!
