As we navigate through life, relationships become a primary force in our daily lives. Let's admit it. Some people are easier to love than others. We all have those people in our lives that require more work. Maybe we are that person for them - you never know. Either way, we are called to love others well.
Take time the next few weeks to do an inventory of your relationships according to this passage. I pray God will take us deeper into His mercy and further into His love for the sake of others.
This week's Bible reading: Romans 12:4-8
Focus Verse: "...so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all of the others." (Romans 12:5)
Prayer Prompts
Day 1: Verse 6 talks about gifts given "according to the grace given to each of us." We are all born with natural gifts but God promises each of us one specific gift given by the Holy Spirit at our point of trusting God (1 Peter 4:10). Do you know yours? If not, check out this resource: LINK for Spiritual Gift resource
Day 2: We don't have the same functions as other people in our households, workplaces, or communities. But, we are each essential to our environments. Where do you feel your gifts shine? Thank God for those areas in your life!
Day 3: Where are your gifts being overshadowed or dulled? Talk to God about that and ask Him for insight.
Day 4: Are there gifts you want but didn't get? Sometimes we are jealous of others that have the gift we want. Take some time to lay that desire down today. It's not serving you well.
Day 5: Sometimes we still have to perform tasks that require us to work outside of our gifting. This can require perseverance and stamina. For example, poke me in the eyeballs when I have to create a spreadsheet. However, there are a few things that have helped me in that area: 1. Thinking about how I can do those tasks with the best attitude. 2. Invite a friend who has that gift to help you. 3. Ask others to pray for you when needed.
