April 13-19, 2025
As we approach the final weeks leading up to Easter and the joyous celebration of Christ’s resurrection, our focus turns to Jesus in the Psalms. In particular, Psalm 22 is a powerful Messianic passage, foreshadowing the dialogue Christ would experience in His moments of abandonment, suffering, and ultimately, His triumph over death through the resurrection. As you reflect on these verses, pray that God would grant you the mind of Christ, allowing you to fully engage with the passage during this sacred time of reflection, preparation, and celebration!
This week's Bible reading: Psalm 22
Focus Verses: Psalm 22:8-15
Day 1: Some of us have a good account of our birth story. If you don’t reach out to someone in your family and ask them to tell you the story or take a look at your baby book if you have one. Recall that you were fearfully and wonderfully made by an amazing Heavenly Father. No matter the story, He did redeeming work for you.
Day 2: What trouble surrounds you? Take that to God today and ask for help.
Day 3: Everyone has bulls and lions that they run into in life. What does it look like to battle them? What prayers do you need? What weapons do you need to form? What armor do you need to put on?
Day 4: What bones of yours are out of joint? They might be physical bones or spiritual difficulties. Who can you ask to pray with you today for these needs?
Day 5: What are some things you have said this week that you are not proud of? Maybe you remember from the Scriptures that Jesus did not utter anything in retaliation (Matt 27:14).
Challenge: If you reflected and thought of something you said that may have hurt someone this week, reach out to apologize and accept responsibility for your actions. Forgiveness is waiting.
