April 6-12, 2025

As we approach the final weeks leading up to Easter and the joyous celebration of Christ’s resurrection, our focus turns to Jesus in the Psalms. In particular, Psalm 22 is a powerful Messianic passage, foreshadowing the dialogue Christ would experience in His moments of abandonment, suffering, and ultimately, His triumph over death through the resurrection. As you reflect on these verses, pray that God would grant you the mind of Christ, allowing you to fully engage with the passage during this sacred time of reflection, preparation, and celebration!

This week's Bible reading: Psalm 22

Focus Verses: Psalm 22:1-7

Day 1: Jesus uses this phrase from verse 1 in the passage of Matthew 27:46. When was a time where you cried out in response to a feeling of abandonment?

Day 2: Jesus endured great suffering in the moments on the cross. Write down some descriptive words that would depict what happened on that difficult day.

Day 3: In verse 3, the word “yet” is used to turn the lament back to God’s character. He is enthroned as the Holy One and He is the one who deserves our praise. Praise God for one thing you see this week.

Day 4: Reflect on a time in your life when God rescued you. How did you feel? What happened? Turn that reflection into a time of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Day 5: How do you maintain trust in God when things are hard? Draw an image depicting trust in God.

Challenge: Find someone in your circle who is suffering and reach out with a card or letter or connection to show them the “hands and feet of Christ.”
