November 2-9, 2024
Michele introduced us to Colossians 3:12 that was used in a book by Kelly Minter (“Fitting Room”). Over the next few weeks we will continue to unpack two other virtues highlighted therein: gentleness and humility.
This week's Bible reading: Colossians 3:12
Focus Theme: Clothing yourself with gentleness
Prayer Prompts
Day 1: Then gentleness in Colossians 3:12 indicates mildness. Take the time to consider what this looks like in your daily life.
Day 2: At the time of this writing we are having a presidential election in the U.S. How would the election process be different if the candidates clothed themselves with gentleness? Do you think It is possible to be gentle and mild like Christ and hold the office of President of the United States?
Day 3: In order to display gentleness, one has to “die to self”. How does that apply to your life?
Day 4: What causes you to struggle with gentleness?
Day 5: Consider that gentleness is evidence of the transformative work of the Spirit. Is is possible to be gentle apart from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit?
Challenge: Submit yourself to gentleness in your difficult conversations this week as you trust God’s work in His creation.
