November 24-30, 2024
Michele introduced us to Colossians 3:12 that was used in a book by Kelly Minter (“Fitting Room”). Over the next few weeks we will continue to unpack two other virtues highlighted therein: gentleness and humility.
This week's Bible reading: Colossians 3:12
Focus Theme: Clothing yourself with humility
Prayer Prompts
Day 1: Putting on clothes requires intentionality. Clothes don’t miraculously appear on your body. In the same way “putting on humility” requires intentionality. What are some ways that you can be intentional about clothing yourself with humility?
Day 2: How does being kingdom minded help you walk humbly?
Day 3: Think of a list of tasks that you think is below you. Determine how you can do one of those things this week for your family or someone else.
Day 4: Being clothed in humility is both attitude and action. Earlier we glimpsed some actions, now lets look at attitude. Think of a tense faith conversation that you had with a believer of a different denomination. Did you leave room that your viewpoint could be flawed? There are some foundational truths that are solid, but often people differ on non-essentials. How can you disagree with a humble attitude?
Day 5: Ask God to show you disagreements that you have had without holding a humble attitude. Ask for forgiveness and ask God who you can go back to and apologize.
Challenge: Ask God who you need to forgive for not being humble towards you in attitude and action. Forgive them and do a loving act towards them if possible.
