April 20-26, 2025

As we approach the final weeks leading up to Easter and the joyous celebration of Christ’s resurrection, our focus turns to Jesus in the Psalms. In particular, Psalm 22 is a powerful Messianic passage, foreshadowing the dialogue Christ would experience in His moments of abandonment, suffering, and ultimately, His triumph over death through the resurrection. As you reflect on these verses, pray that God would grant you the mind of Christ, allowing you to fully engage with the passage during this sacred time of reflection, preparation, and celebration!

This week's Bible reading: Psalm 22

Focus Verses: Psalm 22:16-23

Day 1: Jesus’ hands and feet were pierced. Grab a nail from your garage and carry it in your pocket this week. Take it out every so often as a reminder for the work He did on the cross for YOU!

Day 2: The soldiers were more concerned with Jesus’ material possessions than understanding what happened on the cross. They cast lots for his tunic that was stripped from his body. Divide up your clothes this week, sorting what needs to be trash and what needs to be donated. Pray during that time and ask God to help you release any hold on material possessions you may currently ascribe to - even unaware.

Day 3: Jesus’ garment was said to be seamless; just like the curtain in the temple. When he died, the temple curtain was torn in two pieces from the top to the bottom (where no human hands could have ripped it.

Day 4: Daniel had a habit of praying 3 times a day which means he trusted God enough to pray in the lion's den. Ultimately, he survived. What do you need to survive this week? Pray and ask for God’s help.

Day 5: The name of Jesus is so powerful. There is NO OTHER NAME. Listen to this song and create a time of worship for the Audience of One!

Challenge: Write the name of Jesus on a piece of paper. Get some markers or pencils and draw lines encircling His name. Repeating this over and over, just saying the name of Jesus. Now be quiet for a few minutes. What might God want to say to you in the quiet?
