August 11-17, 2024

This month, we are going to take time to reflect on our Manna Moments.

I have been off for the month of July recovering from a recent surgery. Forced rest is not my preferred activity but I truly felt God's hand upon this surgery - it was fully approved by my insurance, I was out of the hospital faster than expected, I have healed faster than expected, I needed less pain meds than expected, and I have rested better than expected. Hallelujah!

I think the reason why everything went so well was because of what I think I heard God say before my surgery about His manna and because of the prayers of my community. I have learned that God is STILL in the business of healing His people.

What I think I heard God say before my surgery was through a personal devotional I read on manna and two other devotionals I was sent by others on the same topic. I had never really reflected on my own Manna Moments before and now I can't get them off of my mind. I hope the same thing happens for you as you work through these prayer prompts this month.

This week's Bible reading: Psalm 78

Focus Verse: "He rained down manna upon them to eat And gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance.” (Psalm 78:24-25)

Prayer Prompts

Day 1: In these verses, manna is called "the grain from heaven" and the "bread of angels." What does this symbolism mean to you? Pray for God to show you how that provision applies today.

Day 2: Why was God full of wrath when He heard the questions of the people? (vs. 21-22) What ways have you stopped believing or trusting in His power?

Day 3:  What areas of your life have abundance right now? What do you notice? These are your Manna Moments. Thank God for those areas today. Take some time this week to document the Manna Moments at the end of each day.

Day 4: What ways has God shown you wonders you could not believe? Thank Him for those wonders today.

Day 5: How often have you rebelled against God and He provided a way out or a way back in? Reflect on that today. Write a Psalm to Him expressing that experience and remembering His grace!

Challenge: Post something on your social media inviting friends to talk about their Manna Moments.
